~ A Cut Above ~

 

Description

This Experienced Sailorís Course is for sailors who have a significant amount of sailing experience and wish to complete their basic level education and obtain the inland certifications, including the Bareboat Charter Certification credential.

Prerequisites

     + Owned a 30 foot or larger monohull sailboat for a minimum of two years, and
     + Captained 30 foot or larger monohull sailboats for a minimum of 50 days underway.
     + Completed ASA105 Coastal Navigation full length classroom course or Home Study course through the Maryland School of Sailing and successfully achieved ASA105 Certification.
     + Completed the ASA118 two-day Docking Course through the Maryland School of Sailing and successfully achieved ASA118 Certification.

Course Content

     + Four-day hands-on checkout course aboard an Island Packet 32 foot sailboat for all of the required skills and knowledge of the ASA101, ASA103 and ASA104 course standards. 

     + Written exams for ASA101 Basic Keelboat Sailing, ASA103 Basic Coastal Cruising, and ASA104 Bareboat Cruising.

Enrollment

     + Enrollment requires requires that you first submit a sailing experience resume' of your sailing experience for review and approval by our staff.
     + To apply, please complete the sailing experience resume at  https://mdschool.wufoo.com/forms/zpig9k00964sqd/  It will likely take 40 minutes to complete, and it is best to have your sailing log handy before you begin.

Course Dates: August 8-11, 2017
Tuition Fee: $1300 + $39 ASA Membership Fee

Fee includes books, ASA Exams and Certifications, onboard berthing, onboard food for ASA104 portion
