Joe Kliment  is an ASA Certified Sailing Instructor holding a USCG Near Coastal Master’s License. As a delivery captain, he enjoys blue water sailing, and has accumulated over 33,000 offshore miles delivering sailboats to the Caribbean. He is an avid Ham radio operator, W3HZM. Joe retired in 1998 from a 31 year career as a chemist and manager in the environmental field, and teaches boating classes for the US Power Squadrons and the Delaware Safety Council. He and his wife Ruth live in Middletown, DE and enjoy spending time with their two children and three grandchildren. Joe finds great satisfaction in teaching because it allows him to share with others his love of sailing. He teaches in our basic through advanced coastal sailing classes in Chesapeake Bay and the Virgin Islands.
