Ron McKie is a certified surveyor of marine yachts in the Chesapeake Bay area. He owns an Island Packet 35 sailing yacht which he's sailed over 3000 ocean miles including a trip to Bermuda. He holds a USCG Master's Near Coastal License, ASA Instructor Certifications and Commercial Flight Instructor Licenses. Ron teaches at our basic and intermediate sailing levels and has served as a Mate on our Ocean cruises. He spent many years working as a programmer and troubleshooter with IBM and as an independent computer consultant. Ron also worked as a Disk Jockey, an Emergency Medical Technician, a cook, a Flight Instructor and aviation mechanic (airframe & powerplant) and has been a lifelong sailor, a fisherman, skier, climber and SCUBA diver.
