2016, sent the following comments

Everything for our 101 class was fantastic and exceeded my
expectations. This was actually the second time I took ASA 101. I took it again
because of the longer class time (4 days vs previous 2), and the reputation of
Maryland School of Sailing & Seamanship after I did additional investigation
into opportunities. Captain Robin Bauer was GREAT! She was informative,
responsive to individual skill levels and needs, personally engaging and she
actually made it fun! I’d very highly recommend her to anyone
considering a class that Captain Robin is teaching.
Almost all pre class and post class communication and interaction was with Rita
Hanson. Rita is fantastic! Very helpful and patient explaining every single
aspect of the training. I ask a LOT of questions. Rita was extremely thorough in
ensuring every question I had was satisfactorily answered. The beat goes on. I'm
currently considering 3-4 other classes with MSSS and Rita is helping me
navigate that future training.
I looked at all schools in the Upper Bay area. I liked the fact your classes are
longer, very well explained on your website and the range of offerings,
including times offered, was very well organized. Also you train on larger boats
than most schools. I love Island Packets! The boats were very well maintained,
very clean, and a joy to sail. I currently own a Catalina 30 but aspire to an
Island Packat 32+ just like the school uses in all on water training. I watched
most of Tom's videos on YouTube as well and they were great and definitely
played into my ultimate decision.
