Kerry Cotter, who took our ASA107 Celestial Navigation
Online Class in 2022, sent the following comments:
~
I had a great time in the ASA 107 Celestial Navigation
class. There was efficient coverage of content during each of the lectures,
clear expectations for students and the course materials are all expertly
designed. The Maryland School of Sailing and Seamanship set their standards so
high I could not possibly ask for more.
Captain Tursi is an amazing teacher. I appreciate his dedication to the needs of
students and how he constantly goes above and beyond to make sure all questions
are addressed. He is always prepared to provide additional support to students
by providing alternative approaches to content, as needed. Rita is amazing
as always. Her organization, detailed knowledge, and follow-up with students is
always on point and appreciated. Her hard work and expertise in logistics makes
staying organized on the student side so much easier. I very much
appreciate Rita's care and dedication to ensuring the student experience is as
streamlined as possible. Your institution sets high standards for the
student experience. I cannot think of anything else which can improve upon what
is already being delivered. Thank you for all you do!
I discovered the Maryland School of Sailing and Seamanship from your excellent
YouTube channel. Thank you for your generosity in making those excellent videos
freely available to the sailing community and beyond. Very pleased to have
discovered the Maryland School of Sailing and Seamanship. I am serious about my
sailing education and appreciate finding a school that sets such a high bar for
its students and does not make compromises in its educational approach.
Although I hold ASA 101 and 103 certifications from other institutions, I will
likely retake these classes with The Maryland School of Sailing and Seamanship
during the 2023 season, just to ensure I am up to par with the standards you
have established. In the meantime, I am looking forward to joining you
this June for ASA 104. Thank you!
