Thank you for a wonderful learning experience! I learned so much, and enjoyed every minute. The course was very well designed, with many opportunities to practice. It employed every learning style, with the reading ahead of time, out loud reading before each skill practice, and then multiple times to do each skill, moving around to different positions so we could get muscle memory as well as watch other people. I had a little knowledge and experience before I came, but I understood things in a much deeper way after the class. Yvonne was an amazing instructor. She was patient and calm. She had great ways of explaining how things worked, useful mnemonics to help us remember things, and a sense of fun that made the whole experience very pleasant. Some of the women in the class had some physical issues, and Yvonne made strategic accommodations so they could still participate fully. When she saw that we didn't understand something, she created experiences for us that helped us practice and understand. I read the training plan first and the ASA book second, before the class. The training plan was a bit overwhelming at first, but I really appreciated it during the class as we tried out different skills. I love having it as a resource for review, and as I create checklists for my own boat! Rita was so kind, and spent a lot of time with me, discussing which classes would fit my needs and answering my many questions! She was a big reason I chose your school. Your YouTube channel, particularly the docking video, was a big selling point for me. The calm, thorough approach that the video demonstrates was exactly what I was looking for. Also, your ASA 101 was longer than most, seemed a little more advanced, and your boats are bigger. That's exactly what I wanted. It helped that I could sleep on the boat. That was much more affordable for me. I enjoyed all the docking tricks and tools! Can't wait to try some on our boat! ~ Emily Ederer, ASA 101 Women’s Course Graduate June 2025
