~ A Cut Above ~

Elizabeth Furlong, who took our ASA101 sailing course in June 2018, sent the following note:

~

This was a super class!  Captain McKee is an excellent instructor -- tough when he needs to be, consistent in his instruction, open with questions when asked.  Rita was wonderful about answering our questions and helping my friend and I get set up for the ASA 101 class.  Everything about the boat was perfect -- loved this boat!  I just want to add — I recently met two people who had taken a sort of "catch up" ASA 101/103 course in Florida. Said they were on the water for 1 - 2 days, took the exam and got certified. They were very poorly trained -- one seemed to barely know what to do, the other thought he knew more than he did. I've sailed with a lot of good sailors, and was bothered that these two were "certified", and yet were not skilled. After taking the course with the MDSS, I know how well we were trained and truly appreciate the effort the school takes to ensure its students have been taught the necessary skills. Many thanks to all!!
