~ A Cut Above ~

We received this email from Bruce Leinberger who sailed with us aboard HALIMEDA from Bermuda to Norfolk in June 2005.

Dear Denise and Tom,

I wanted to write you to tell you about how pleased I was with my recent passage on Halimeda.  First, the Captain, Jack Morton and the First Mate, Jochen Hoffmann were excellent.  They were a wealth of knowledge, patience and wisdom.  They are a credit to your organization. The pre-voyage preparations were superb.  The crew learned together which in turn helped us to work together at sea.  Our time at sea was "enjoyable hard work".

I also wanted to comment on the preparation of the boat.  It appears that you have planned for every contingency under sail.  I cannot begin to detail the plethora of items you stocked on the boat to fix or replace anything that might break while at sea. It has caused me to rethink the stock of spares that I carry on my boat.  Most importantly, we knew that if we needed it, it was probably on the boat.

Thanks again.

Bruce Leinberger
