~ A Cut Above ~

Joyce Meggison, who took our ASA118 Docking Class in June 2019, sent the following note

~

I’m very glad we spent the time and money for this class. It’s given us the confidence and knowledge needed to safely dock/undock our vessel. Captain Frank Mummert's training method was spot on...very effective. One more day of practice would have been great, but honestly, after day two we were mentally exhausted...could have been from the extreme heat. The marina setting was quiet so I didn’t feel nervous about maneuvering around other vessels. It would have been nice to have more wind & current to practice in conditions similar to ours....but that can’t be controlled, and may not be safe in an instructional environment. We love the Chesapeake Bay area so made the trip into a mini vacation.  Reading material before arriving is critical. No need for instructor to read book to us. Review theory then practice, practice, practice, and practice some more.
