~ A Cut Above ~

We received these comments from Alberto Ramirez who took an ASA101 basic sailing class with Captain Andy Barton in July 2015

~

The Lankford Bay Marina and the facilities at the School are excellent, as well as the access for loading and unloading gear, parking, and dock facilities. The Marina's restrooms and showers are comfortable and clean, well maintained, and not crowded.

The boat, Acadame, is a comfortable vessel maintained in great condition, with the best layout for sailing classes. The cabin, bunks and equipment are first-class and well maintained. The only problem we experienced with the head was because one of the students didn't understand its use well.

The books, curriculum, pace of learning and hands-on practice, all make this course worth taking. As an experienced college professor, I can tell that the instructional methods, materials, and built-in adaptable approach, are very conductive to effective learning. This course not only met, but exceeded my expectations.

Captain Barton is one of the best Instructors I have had. His patience, friendly and knowledgeable style, and his expertise made learning easy. I'd be glad to take future courses with Captain Barton as the Instructor, and will recommend his classes to any of my family and friends.
