~ A Cut Above ~

Gary Rhodes, who took our ASA104 cruising Course in June 2019, sent the following notes

~

I am VERY impressed with Captain Steve Runals. He is disciplined without being overbearing. He never showed frustration with us and made sure we learned and grew our sailing knowledge. I loved how he asked what our weak points were (mainly navigation) and then went on to focus on those areas over the course of the trip. He is detailed and safety oriented, which is exactly what we were looking for in an instructor. I would do another class with him any day!  The boat was our classroom :-). Steve ensured that even during slow times while sailing or motor sailing, that we worked on some sort of skill - Knots, Vocabulary, Whisker Pole deployment, sail trip, etc.  This was a tremendous experience... Thank you to everyone at the MD School of Sailing!! I believe I am a way better sailor today than before the class.
