~ A Cut Above ~

Hi Rita,

You did a very professional job setting up and executing this informative seminar. Lee and his slides were extremely helpful and I learned a lot from the presentation. In my opinion, the format – the webinar – is really good for providing education in an affordable manner and with a minimum time investment. It is literally as good as “being there” in class courtesy of the digital age we live in.

While many topics require actual hands on training, like docking, I think there are others that fit this method well, especially for experienced sailors looking to broaden their sailing education. Between my experience and the fact I am quite “visual” I “saw” much of what Lee spoke about in my “mind’s eye” which really promotes learning.

I would be interested in future topics like anchoring and using a chart plotter for starters. (I do both, but am interested in learning more about these types of topics.) I am doing more bare boat chartering and find I need to expand my sailing education as my sailing venues expand. Based on the poll results I saw yesterday, I believe there are others out there like me. The webinar format might be a win-win situation for your school and us students.

Regards, Gil
