I made my first trip down the ICW
in the Fall of 2014. Since then, I have made the trip up or down
eleven times (I am currently on my twelfth trip, heading back to
Maryland). I won't call myself an expert on the trip, but I have
made enough mistakes that I have stories to tell. Join me on
February 27th at 10:00 AM EST for a two hour Webinar on lessons that I
have learned about traveling the Ditch. I will tell you of my
experiences dealing with the Three Zones, fixing my boat in strange and
boring places, figuring out how to deal with the animals and humans that I
have met along the way, and what has changed over the seven years that I
have been making the trip.
I will talk about what happened when
we went "outside" and why we continue to do so. I will try
to explain why I have three chart plotters and two different chart books
going all the time. You will hear about my many experiences running
aground and, hopefully, get some insight into how to avoid it.
This will not be a straightforward
discussion about the ICW. Anyone who has ever had me as an
instructor knows that I never have a short, sweet answer when a story can
make a point better and, as I tell every student, you will get my
opinions, which will be worth exactly what you paid for it (did I mention
the webinar is FREE?). Join for what I hope will be an entertaining
and enlightening two-hour ramble down America's Marine Interstate.
See you there! Frank
