Tom Bedwell

Tom Bedwell holds a USCG Near Coastal Captains License and is certified in four levels as an ASA Instructor. Over the past 8 years he has sailed on many types of boats from Long Island Sound, the coast of New Jersey, the Chesapeake Bay, The U. S. Virgin Islands, The British Virgin Islands, and in several of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean. Tom looks forward to working with students in the Basic and Intermediate level courses. Tom and his wife Mary Ann are the proud parents of four grown children, and enjoy cruising in their Island Packet 380 Freedom Seeker on the Chesapeake Bay. Tom is the president of a general construction company and is a registered professional engineer.

"Captain Bedwell was an outstanding teacher. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable and patient. He knew more than simply how to sail or even how to teach sailing. He was able to answer all questions then give an additional detail of how important that information really is as a new learner. I really trusted him, had fun and learned a lot more than I expected. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. He really motivated me to continue my interest in sailing. I really appreciate all he did for us."

~ Jamie Bachman; Introductory Sailing Graduate 2011
